ESA is making me wish i was Dead

Hello MSE,

I am a part Sighted man and new here. And lately i have been thinking of ending my life because i am fed up with this Goverment and the rules arOund Esa.

I lost most of my sight in 2006 to a rental detchment and cataracts on my eyes. i also suffer from diabeties type one which i am insulin dependent and have people to look after me in my family.

i sent last 3 weeks ago my limited questionnare form back, With all medical infomation supported by my GP of my illneses and have also been registered part-sighted yet the decison maker ignored this and placed me into the WRAG group with interviews,

i got off the phone today with the jsa with the most rudest woman ever who left me in tears after i asked about what the WRAG is

I have appealed the decision and i am on here to ask what is the next thing to do, do i really need to have a hypogemcia fit at the jsa to prove i am a ill man, after weeks of seinding my esa50 form in they sent me another one again today with a thretning letter.

I am so streesed at at the moment i feel like i am going to lose my home and wish i was dead with all this stress they are putting me through

can anyone advise me and help
me why are they doing this to me, i have 5 hypo fits a day, 7 insulin shots to keep me alive MY sigt is no good yet they think i can just go back to work like that who wants to employ me....

Being diabetic does not stop you from working so there is no point in trying to use that - there are lots of people working with diabetes. Your vision problems are a different matter entirely and I find it ludicrous that they're even suggesting the WRAG for someone who is obviously as bad as you are.

Unfortunately the Tories are determined to make people jump through so many hoops that they give up claiming but don't let them win. Because of the high workload the job centre staff have due to the massive redundancies and the abuse they're getting because of the new WRAG, quite a few advisors are becoming very matter of fact which can appear rude.

Don't let it get you down, it is not personal even though it feels it is to you. As someone said, get help with filling in the forms and play the game. Eventually it will end.

This situation is happening to many people.
My son is in constant pain and has been admitted on an emmergency basis about every 2 weeks. Despite regular long term sick notes and speaking with dismissive disinterested people at jobcentre and dwp for over 3 months. No decision on appeal.
Go to gp and ask for a long term sicknote.
You will win in the end!!!!!!!!

THANK YOU NAME I MENTIONED TO THEM I AM DIABETIC BECAUSE I KEEP HAVING FITS DAILY I TAKE NOVARAPID INSULIN BUT IT IS NOT HELPING ME MY BLOODS SUGARS ARE ALWAYS AROUND 22.6 THEN WHEN THEY DROP I AM SO TIRED AND CONFUSED AND SLEEP ALL THE TIME
I HAVE BEEN BAD W IGH MY EYES FOR 6 YEARS NOW SO HOW DO THEY EXPECT ME TO GET A JOB WHEN I HAVE NOT WORKED FOR THAT LONG? WILL THEY AT THE INTERVIEW POP ME 2 NEW EYES IN MY HEAD AND MAKE ME BETTEER.THANKS EVERYONE I WILL GO SEE cab TOMORROW

I am a diabetic and if you are having that many hypos a day you need to urgently to see either your DSN or GP!

Andy - you really need to see your diabetic nurse or doctor about your high sugar levels and frequent hypos, it sounds like your insulin needs sorting out to keep your sugar levels stable. Blood sugar highs and lows are very damaging for the body and can also affect your mood.

unfortunately you have to either ignore it or next time it happens ask to speak to her manager. If she refuses be adamant and ask for her name and tell her the problem. Always be polite!

Why did they send another form? On this letter does it say 'if you have already returned the form please ignore this letter?' Also these letters are generic computer generated things. I know it doesn't help when your in a delicate frame of mind but they are not personally written poison pen letters they send them out without a second thought and everyone gets the same templated garbage.

Contact your mp and have them look at this thread (saves you having to clue them in). Also speak to your GP and possibly the samaritans as mentioned.

Again your just a cog in an overworked machine don't take it personally. Also WRAG is not some extended jobseekers for the disabled, you do not look for work, you attend 6 interviews over the claim and they will engage in 'work related activity'. My adviser was very good! In the last 3 months of the claim they will pass you over to the work programme which is pretty much the same thing but could be more frequent. Their will be no applying for work or any kind of working. If you feel the 6 interviews are beyond you then you have done the right thing appealing. You will receive some slightly reduced money while you appeal and you just have to wait as the tribunal service is backlogged atm.

No problem obviously! Get some help with your mental health i remember when i was depressed everything they did felt personal and i became very very stressed and distressed but now that my depression is better its really like water of a duck's back. You are in the appeals process now their is nothing else to do after they make the initial appeal reconsideration(they are obligated to do this), unless you win on appeal it will go to tribunal and most likely a long and peaceful wait. They shouldn't really bother you to much once it is sent to tribunal. But do try and find out why they sent you a second form thats a bit strange.
