13mm socket on a single bolt that holds one of the lips in place is normal.

word of advice make sure you have the code for the cassette/radio unit. When you disconnect the battery and put in a new battery you will have to enter the code to make the radio work.

there is a way around this but is tricky.

I will tell you how to get around changing the battery without the fear of losing your radio code. There are several methods.

You will be doing it at AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Method 1. This is only recommended on older cars without the dreaded ECU's etc. Don't know if it will damage the ECU on modern cars. Recommend two people for this job. Get the car started. Undo the clamping device that holds the battery in place. Undo the nuts holding the terminals to the battery. Remove battery terminals. You will notice the car is still running without the battery now. Get the assistant to hold the +ve (positive) terminal away from the body/-ve(negative) terminal to prevent shortening. Remove old battery and place the new battery in place. Refit the clamping device and the terminals.

Method 2. Done this on my wife's '98 micra. She did not have the radio code. Parked my car facing hers. Both cars started and the bonnet open. On the micra i removed the clamping device and loosen the battery terminals. Using jump leads i connected the -ve from my car's battery to the micra's engine for earthing and not to the -ve battery lead. I then connect the +ve from my battery to the micra's +ve battery lead. Removed the micra's battery leads making sure that the jump lead does not come off the +ve lead and it does not touch the bodywork. I had placed the lead on a thick rag. Swap the battery for the new one. Refit battery leads and clamping device and tighten. Then remove jump leads. Job done.

Method 3. Seen a battery powered device which you plug into the cigeratte lighter. It supply the power to the car's electrics while you remove the battery. Will let you know what this device is when i find it.
