Currys Coverplan

Has anyone else had this problem?
I bought a Dyson about three years ago from Currys. It has worked perfectly well and have had no problems.
I needed a new front guard on it which I bought from Dyson but had difficulty in fitting it myself so arranged for Dyson to do a home visit and fit it (£39)
Shortly after that I received a letter from Currys saying my `insurance ` had expired( never knew I had it!) and asking for £13 p.a. for service repairs. They had tried to renew my payments without my permission using the original credit card!
I have written to them enclosing a copy of Dyson`s invoice and asking for them to reimburse me as it was still under guarantee and complaining about their attempt to withdraw payment without my consent. I have also said I was not given any info as to how to contact them for repair cover
I`m quite happy to pay £13 p.a. providing they reimburse me first. Also Currys have a 0870 number which makes call expensive - even Dyson provide a freephone number now.
Any comments as to what else I could do please?

The likelihood is that you agreed to it (may even have been a freebie they chucked in) and when you did that there was an auto-renewal clause in there.
I am not sure what else help you want? There is a possibility they will refuse the refund of the existing repairs as they didnt authorise them (plus you didnt say why a part needed replacing to know if it is a risk covered by the policy)All posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers

I think you must have ticked a box under section 4, sub-section 13, paragraph 3.0
