Hi was hoping some-one could help. In april 2005 my husband took out a £3000 loan with citi-financial which included ppi, he was told it was compulsory, when we looked through the paper work later it stated on there that it was optional so he phoned them the same day to ask them to take it off and they said nothing could be done as the paperwork was signed. 10 weeks later he refinanced the loan to get it removed, the second loan being £225 more than the first plus the 2 monthly installments he had paid. We have the paperwork for both loans but would this make a valid claim as we are unsure how much we actually paid for it. Big thanks if anyone can help.

Yes you will have a claim for the money you paid for the PPI in that 10 week period. Plus ask them to look at excess balance interest on the second loan. You don't need to tell them how much you paid, they can see that from their records. Just explain what happened and why you were mis-sold.
It may not be thousands of pounds in PPI but every bit helps, right?
Have a look at the templates on here and get that letter in the post!!0 -
Thanks, will give it a go then, like you said "every bit helps"0
