Water softened water bad for CH systems?

Ideal boilers have crap aluminium heat exchangers that will be rotted using softened water.
Op. yes the engineer is correct. You should not use softened water in any heating system. Even if the boiler heat exchanger is s/steel, the softened water will corrode the radiators.
As said, always fill the system with the water softener on bypass0 -
Thanks to all. It just goes to show that everything a BG engineer said isn't necessarily true. He said something else but thats a question for the gas vs electricity board.0
