Son aged now 22 studied for 1 year at university before leaving course due to illness. He has some outstanding debts, £900 student overdraft for example, but has lived independently since October 2009, most of this while claiming JSA. He wants to return to study next Sep/Oct but is concerned he won't be classed as financially independent from us and will still only get the basic maintenance allowance.
