Help with ticket prices from Gatwick Airport to East Croydon

in Motoring
Going to Gatwick airport tomorrow (off peak) and need to get the train back to East Croydon. If I buy a ticket online now it costs me £5.00 for the journey, does anyone know what the price is if i buy a ticket on the day at the station?

    According to National Rail Enquiries, £5.00 on First Capital Connect, £5.70 on Southern.

    Well thats what I checked as well, but is it more if you buy at the ticket machine on the day? Thanks

    Those prices are walk on fares and available on the day

    You can get a marginally cheaper fare by booking in advance on Southern's website - £4.50 on some trains. With these you can only use the booked train. Hardly worth it.
