I've just discovered the Electricity switch I made to NPower was cancelled as the National Grid has different set of addresses to the Post Office. They effectively make their own up when they install a meter.
Fine if you live at a single dwelling but if you have something a bit different like Top Flat or Back Entrance, both legit and are on Council Tax then the serial number won't match the address and the computer cancels the transfer.
NPower are honouring the the transfer on the fixed rate even though it expired and it is a new contract.
But I am waiting to see if Moneysupermarket.com will still pass on the cash back even though the deal through them was effectively cancelled.
I supplied the details twice but it wasn't until an agent noticed the difference was it sorted out. The Moneysupermarket.com website found my address automatically but it was using the post office database or one provided by another company.
Just a heads up and hope Moneysupermarket.com come through.

A similar thing happened to me when transferring my broadband to BT. The first order had to be completely cancelled and redone. I got two lots of cashback from Topcashback, so was delighted, although it was a pain at the time.0

that's a bit of luck. Problem here is the second application is direct with NPower so Moneysupermarket don't know about it and the original offer had expired. The new one wasn't as good. I did consider reapplying but I would've missed out on the better tariff.
Good to know though.0
