I am about to move house but have pictures on the wall that have been attached with new nails.
Any ideas on how to remove them without taking the plaster down??
Why oh why did OH get obsessed with this stuff
Thanks

Well Iv'e used cellulose thinners ,the one that smells like pear drops but you could try nail varnish remover that has the same smell.
Edit : you need plenty of ventilation

It works VERY well!
Your OH is obviously a candidate for DIY SOS!
Unfortunately there is no fullproof (or possibly foolproof!!) way to remove No Nails without damaging your walls.
Lever the pictures off the wall
Refill the holes left in the wall
Repaint the filled holes
or leave your pictures behind...
Technically speaking they are now 'fixtures and fittings' as they are glued to the wall, so I guess they might belong to the new owners anyway!!British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0 -
They are nothing valuable so I could leave them on the wall.
However some are of my children/dogs etc so I doubt that new owners will want those !!
Will show OH your posts & make him remove them . That will teach him !!0 -
i have heard of everything now?
i would have thought hammering a nail in the wall would be easier than no nails, but there you go,
can you try and get a sharp stanley blade behind and cut the glue. failing that you are just going to have to pull them off and re-fill the holes,. hopefully it wont be too bad0 -
What about breaking the glass of the frames on the pix you do want and taking the pix out, just leaving the frame on the wall?
A bit extreme, but might be easier and cheaper than having to replaster part of the wall!
Just an idea...0 -
