Hi
I have sent both these banks a letter and the £1 for the required info regarding credit cards active within the past 6 years.
I received the same letter from both of them saying they don't have to give me this info as the accounts are now closed.
Just want to know, is the next step definitely the £10 SAR letter?

If you have the account numbers and you know you had PPI thats all you really need i think.
I have just had a successful claim on a closed account by simply providing the account number,no SAR or copy of agreement required,
If the accounts were within the last six years you should find the numbers on Experian or on old bank statements etc.0 -

The method you have requested under is not for the last 6 years. It only applies to debts still outstanding. Not those repaid.Just want to know, is the next step definitely the £10 SAR letter?
If you want to get info before you complain then yes. However, for most people, there is no requirement to request the information.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Thanks for the replies
The thing is my wife can't remember if she had PPI on the credit cards and we can't find the account numbers etc as they aren't on her credit report and hence why I thought I needed the documentation first before taking a possible PPI claim further.
But it seems I should just go ahead and make a claim?0 -
apologies but need to bump as I'm at a crossroads0
