Vision Express Contact Lens Scheme

Options
I've recently cancelled my contact lens monthly subscription with Vision Express and the lady called me back to say I was £39 in credit. I asked for it to be refunded into my bank but she said they can't and that a credit note will remain on file until I want to buy!!!
Can they legally hold my money?

(Spec Savers scheme refunded my overpayment when I was with them)

Does anyone have any advice on wether I can get my refund?:(

It really depends on your agreement with them.

It might've been prudent to have cancelled the contract when they didn't owe you anything, but too late for that.

Can they not supply you with £39 of contact lenses?

Is it a direct debit or continuous credit?

There is a DD guarantee :)
  • Hi,
Thanks for the replies. I've stopped wearing them hence the refund.
Yes it's a direct debt scheme for £19.50 a month which I haven't yet cancelled.

I would give head office a call and push for them to return your money. This happened to us and we got the cash refunded. You pay in advance for the lenses on this scheme and you can stop at any time. they should not be arguing about refunding your money - I think they are just trying it on.
