EON Contract Cancellation Fee

My contract with EON for their SaveOnline 4 runs out on 15 January and I don't want to go with their Energy Online plan which will work out more expensive than some of their other plans. Apparently there is a £30 cancellation fee, but will this still apply if I'm still staying with them, just changing plans? I can't find anything on their website or on the information they've posted to me about this.

if you want to stay with EON but a different plan then call them and im sure they`ll move you with a new contract and happily waiver the fee.
as your contract ends in 6 days time , even if you use a comparison site , find the cheapest company and start your move to a new supplier you also wont be charged - why? because you have a minimum `wait` time of 7 days before they can start the transfer!
edit:
i think EON *might* hold your current prices IF you tell them our moving away for 15 days AFTER your contract ends as long as you tell them your moving (EDF did this with OS7 so long as you told them your moving)0 -
If it ends in only 6 days, then why would you switch before then if staying with Eon? If you do so you may be charged an ETC.
If you are switching to another supplier and apply today, it will be 4-5 weeks before the switch happens, so by then you will be long out of contact anyway.
You'll have about a month on Standard tariff (or on whatever the default is from SaveOnline 4).No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

It would appear that EDF are now reneging on this-see other threads. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
they have said you have 15 days after the end of OS7 , so long as the person contacted EDF prior to OS7 ending - any contact made after OS7 ended is too late.0

Hi deniseduck,
As the plan is nearly at an end it may be best to stay on it until it finishes.
However, if you are staying with us then you probably wouldn't be charged the cancellation fee, but it does happen in some cases.
You have a look at what tariff's you can change on to on your online account just by clicking the switch now button.
If you need any help with your account just let me know and I will be happy to assist.
