AMEX Platinum - Supplementary card holders

Can someone answer me the following:
Recently been accepted by Amex for the platinum card.
If I get my girlfriend a supplementary Amex card, will Amex create a financial link between us, or just id check her ?
I've read on this forum that "Credit card companies" don't, but I would like to know if AMEX do specifically or not?

they probably do. remember the main a/c is in YOUR name, if she goes on a spender!Long time away from MSE, been dealing real life stuff..

Ha, yeah I wouldnt dream of letting her have one if she was that kind of person! She flies a lot with work as well so would benefit from the business lounges etc.0

There will not be a financial link between the two of you on your individual credit histories (with experian etc.). The credit agreement is between you and Amex only. You will be 100% responsible for paying off your girlfriend's spending on the Amex card.

Amex probably won't credit check your girlfriend but might just run an ID check.0 -
They didn't even do ID checks when I asked for a supplementary card or if they did then they didnt do them very well as they totally miss spelled her name on the original card they sent.
As has been said, as you are solely liable for the debt there is no financial link created, you are effectively just lending her a copy of your card.0 -
i think each card user is liable for their own spend, but main card holder takes the fall if supps go awol!Long time away from MSE, been dealing real life stuff..
