Packed lunches?

Including the loan repayments you're spending £445 a month on your car, that's 35% of your income. Too much. What car, how old, how much of the loan still to repay etc etc?

What are your circumstances? I don't see anything for rent or utilities, but quite a lot on household groceries? How many people is this supporting?

Can you take packed lunches to save the £60 per month, or at least reduce it? Read magazines online to save the £15. Reduce the amount you spend on birthday presents (how about talking to your friends about token gifts as you are all older and wiser than to 'need' a birthday surprise.

If you save some money here, throw it all at the debt bearing the highest interest rate - get that cleared the fastest to save your interest costs.

Got to be honest, having a summer and a winter holiday seems a bit silly if you are trying to save money - add in the costs of new clothes, spending money and transport etc, it adds up to much more than the book price!

Here are all the debts that are on cards

Credit Cards

NatWest: £830.00 0% APR (deal ending 26th Jan)
Barclaycard: £1349.46 0% APR (24 month deal)
MBNA: £180.15 28.04% APR (card) 30.35% (cash)
Santander 123: £53.99 22.8% APR (pay amount in full every month) no interest paid, only £24 annual fee

Debit Cards

NatWest: £1,463.88 last interest charged £24.17 (On an arrangement that cuts my overdraft by £50 every month) Overdraft currently £1,550
Barclays: £499.92 last interest charged £6.51 Overdraft £500

Have applied for a new 0% Balance Transfer card from Virgin, awaiting a response on that. Putting NatWest and MBNA balances onto new card.

HP is for a laptop, will be paid off in February 2013 currently.

Regarding the Mobile Phone, I've recently got an iPhone 4s. On the £41 a month tariff with £6 data. Not what I can do to bring that down as I've recently signed a 18 month contract in October?

I've got a Fiat Grande Punto, 5 years old. I've got roughly half the the finance left to pay but I have found a clause in the contract where I can give the car back once I've paid half the finance.

I don't pay rent where I am now. I live with my grandad and I pay for groceries instead. This covers 2 people including myself.

Birthday presents are mainly for family but I suppose that can be reduced. I've not had a winter holiday this winter but I did have one March last year so was still including that.

Food for work is a big problem for me and can definately be brought down. I'm in work for the next 3 days so will be planning to bring my own food in and spend nothing.

My Grandad is TV Licence exempt as he is over 75 so the licence is free.

I don't pay anything towards fuel, insurance, council tax etc.

Renewal for Car Insurance is due in May, have used the guide on here or else it would be higher still.

Had a lot of maintenance on my car due to a few problems with it. New brakes, new tyres, new suspension on left front, new handbrake cable, MOT and service.

Will try to cut down on newspapers/magazines and cut the cost of any holidays I do have.

Will cancel the gym also.

I added a lot of comments. Basically you need to cut back and throw as much as you can at your debts! Once they are paid off you will be much better off. But you do seem to have a lot of money going on food.

I spend £200 a month on 2 adults, 1 child, 2 cats and 2 rabbits and when Roo is here I have £20 extra for nappies! This for me is food, toiletries, cleaning products, beauty products... everything! You're spending more then that on groceries and lunches alone.

Just noticed that food is for 2 people. I would say £175 is still high. But you can definatly do it on £150 and include your snacks and food for work.

Drop over to the Old Style Board... they can help you save money on food! Planning meals and shopping around them is the best way to cut costs.

Is this typical of your monthly spend on this card? Because you could only qualify for a maximum of £19.44 cashback even if you only used it at a qualifying petrol station all the time (ie get the max 3% cash back).

You say your phone contract is £41 + £6 data....but your SOA says its £62.31? That doesn't add up. There is nothing you can do until you're at least half way through your contract.
I would forget the 2 holidays a year for this year, that'll give you nearly £60 extra.
