Dyson Service

I've just been called up by a Dyson rep who has offered me a dyson service for £29.99 (including a free fragrance thingy!).
Is it worth it? My Dyson is quite old.

What does this 'service' include?
You can take the washable filter out yourself and wash/dry it. Instructions on Dyson's website. You can replace other filters yourself. Instructions on the website. You can empty it yourself.
What else could there be? It's a simple machine. Hose > Motor > Filter > Dust chamber. End of story.
More to the point, how did Dyson get your phone number?0 -
Was it Dyson. I thought they charged more than £29.99 but would replace anything
They are good did mine years ago

It was supposed to be a £30 half price deal for January. I assumed they had got my number when I registered with them after I bought the Dyson - it was expensive at the time and has done well since I bought it but now needs a few small parts replacing and a good clean.
However, having done my research it seems that it wasn't Dyson but an unrelated company cold calling households. I've cancelled the service.“I tell you, we are here on Earth to fart around, and don't let anybody tell you different.”

I'm pretty sure I saw something on Watchdog where a company stating they are from Dyson cold call. They are nothing to do with Dyson infact they will then give you the speech of how certain parts are not working or faulty and need replacing and sell you sub-standard parts
I would tread carefully and ask for proof that they are from Dyson and then phone Dyson directly to see if they can confirm details."I think I spent 72.75% of my life last year in the office. I need a new job!!"0 -
Be very aware, there are a lot of scams about this. Dyson put out warnings about it.

I have had dysons for around 15 years and I never once got a cold call, so I dont think this is genuine. Only contact I have had with dyson was do I want to take out extra cover?0
