    You can bring a disposable razor or any other "normal" razor through security, you can't bring razor blades like the old-fashioned ones. You can bring liquids, gels, creams and pastes through security as long as each item is 100ml or less and all fit into one resealable plastic bag that measures 20cm x 20cm (8in x 8in).

    You can buy pretty much any toiletries you need after security at the airport, most come in "normal" sizes in Boots airside. If you are connecting half-way through your journey, don't buy any large toiletries as they will be confiscated during transit.

    The alternative to shaving foam is a solid shaving soap which is not restricted through security. Or you could put shaving foam in your checked in luggage if you're checking a suitcase in. If you do this, consider putting it in a carrier bag first, in case of leakage.

    Many thanks for such a descriptive reply. I have decided to take my Gillette fusion and I got a 90ml foam bottle. I also got a sample for a 15 ml tooth paste.

    I am going to see a whole load of family and dont want to look scruffy.
