China...

We are thinking of booking a trip to China (2 adults in May) but as we don't speak or read the language we are a bit wary of just booking flights and setting off like we normally do, it's a vast place and we want to see as much as possible.

So has anyone got any secret bargain tour ops for China, we are studying the Archer's brochure and it's looking good at the moment.;)

I must say, English is quite widely spoken there now, so unless you want to go somewhere obscure you should just go and play it by ear once you arrive.

I had a good experience with Leio Hostel in Beijing: they arranged a very good tour of the Great Wall.

Visited China/Hong Kong with Travelsphere a few years ago. Chose Travelsphere on recommendation of a friend who has done all their China trips and add-ons. Really could not fault the organisation, tour content or hotels. I do travel independently quite often and doubt very much if I could have done the same itinerary, tours, flights etc., for what they charged. To my mind it was money well spent. Probably one of the most enjoyable and above all interesting holidays I have ever taken.
