My OH recently bought a second hand Peugeot partner combi van. He has realised that it has an FM only radio while he would like one with AM as well. Apparently you need to have special Peugeot compatible fitted radios. Anyone got any suggestions on models and suppliers and prices. it must also have RDS.

Also what are best deals on GPSs?

SORRY ABOUT TYPO IN HEADING , FINGER SLIPPED.....

GPS I'll leave to someone else, they've got a lot cheaper, and you're sure to get a decent one second hand cheap enough...
Radio- right, you'll need a faceplate adaptor probably, as this will be a unique shape. Any stereo you buy will be DIN (that's the standard size of stereo, some bigger ones are called double DIN) and will slot in fine, with the adaptor around it. You will probably also need an ISO adaptor, again the stereo might have proprietary connections, and the adaptor will make this into the standard ISO connection. If there are steering wheel controls, it may also be possible to buy an adaptor to make these work with the new stereo.
Most aftermarket units will have AM I'd imagine, and definitely RDS, but do check. I can't think of a faster and more convenient one stop shop than Halfords, but you can beat their prices easily! Try the Autoleads website to find out what bits and pieces may be needed.

Why does he need AM? Has he considered a standalone DAB unit like the Pure Highway?

As above, you wont be buying a Peugeot specific radio, you'll be buying a standard radio and adaptors for the fascia and wiring. And yes 99% of them will have AM.

As for GPS, you'll be paying big money for a radio with built in satnav, we're talking over a grand for a good one. Instead consider getting a radio with either a line in at the back, or bluetooth (make sure it can do music over bluetooth, not just calls) and use a smartphone or a dedicated unit (TomTom, Garmin etc.) with a matching connection if you want its sound to come through your speakers.
