Bargain last minute trips for solo travellers?

Hi all,
I'm going to book a week off in May and try to bag a last minute bargain city break somewhere in Europe as I'm not too picky where I go as long as it's interesting. The last minute deals on some websites are so good (I always fantasy last-minute travel buy on TravelZoo) but all of them seem to bee based on two sharing. I am sadly single at the moment (get out the violins) but would be happy to go on a mini-adventure on my own. Are there any websites that don't always work on a 2 person basis for bargain breaks?
Thanks for any info.
p.s yes I do have friends but none that would be willing to jet off somewhere randomly.

What's your budget?
Most tour operators will hit you with a Single Supplement which means that you're paying for two even though you're going on your own!
For the time of year, I'd advise the Canaries as a destination but I'm assuming that you're after some Sun, apologies if you're not! However, if you are then you may get something cheap when booking flights through Ryanair and your hotel through Travel Republic aka a DIY holiday! The first place you'll find is a sleaze-pit called Bartertown. Now if the earth doesn't swallow you up first, that place sure as hell will!0 -

Silly me! :rotfl:The first place you'll find is a sleaze-pit called Bartertown. Now if the earth doesn't swallow you up first, that place sure as hell will!0 -
Why dont you have a look at some of the budget airlines - i.e. Ryanair / Easyjet / Wizzair and grab a cheap flight. You could then use hostelworld.com to find cheap accomodation. Many hostels have single rooms for next to nothing. Staying in a hostel is fantastic if you are on your own as you will meet people from all around the world.
Countries such as Poland, Germany and the Czech Republic will offer low rates on single rooms compared to those countries such as France, Spain etc
Also dont forget to go through quidco.com to get £1.80 back per booking on hostelworld.com!0 -

With regard to those advertising on TravelZoo, they are often more flexible if you call them.
Thanks, that's useful to know
BusienssStudent, thanks for the tip with Quidco, every little helps. I've done the hostel thing though and now would like a bit of cheap luxury (if such a things exist!) Having said that, some hostels can be very nice so another thing for me to bear in mind when looking for accommodation.0 -
Also worth noting that Travelzoo have a Single Travel section (http://www.travelzoo.com/uk/singles-travel/) although I've never seen any stonkingly good deals on there. Often worth investing some time and putting it together yourself.0
