Hi new to all this, so not sure what to do. For months now I have been bombarded with calls re PPI, all wanting me to let them claim for me, did'nt have a clue I was owed anything, but they all wanted to charge for their services !! I'am not financially flush, far from it so obviously I told them to take a hike. But still the calls persist, even leaving me messages, then I was told about Martin Lewis so here I'am, still in the dark !!

I know I took out a loan in about 2002 from HSBC, have no idea where any paperwork is at all, I think I have the acc no for it ? The loan is no longer active, it was closed 2011. I just would like to find out if I do have a claim, but do not have a clue where to start, I need help !!:rotfl:

    Hi and welcome

And good for you on wanting to have a go yourself where if you succeed you will get to keep every penny of your refund.

Do not worry about the paperwork, as long as you have your reasons and by having the account number will help, then just get a reclaim questionnaire into the address below.

The reclaim questionnaire was issued by the Financial ombudsman service (FOS), keep a copy of this in case you need to make a complaint to the FOS if HSBC does not uphold in your favour by a final decision.
Below is the link to the questionnaire.

    http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/publications/technical_notes/ppi/PPI-consumer-questionnaire.doc

And address of where to send your complaint.

You should write to us at:
    HSBC, Regulated Sales Complaints
    120 Redcliff Quay,
    Redcliff Street,
    Bristol,
    BS1 6HU

    Hope this helps, good luck.;)
