Best thing for smelly plug holes

Noticed a bit of a wiff coming out of the bathroom sink plug hole. There is no blockage but pongs. What is the best thing to use on this? ive used mr muscle in the past and stuff from Wilkinsons but really the wiff comes back after a short period of time.
All the big powers they've silenced me. So much for free speech and choice on this fundamental human right, and outing the liars.

Handful of soda crystals and hot water!

    OR (thanks Iamc)

Some baking soda followed by a dash of vinegar is fun too.

I used to use a product called 'One Shot'. Its very powerful and unblocks drains as well. I used it in the toilet too. Wear a mask!

I had that for a while. I gave up and disassembled the U bend and gave it a thorough scrubbing.

:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p

Sprinkle a good lot of Bicarb on the plug hole, pour on some white vinegar and it will bubble up. Leave for a while then rinse with boiling water. You can buy a box of bi carb in Savers, cheaper than from the supermarket.

Drains can just get a bit mouldy inside because they're always wet. I put bleach down the drains occasionally to kill anything unwanted in the U-bend. Thick gel bleach is good for this as it will coat and cling to the sides of the drain if you pour it around the edges. Give it a while to work and flush away with water. Great for clearing up stale mouldy drains, but bleach is not able to remove blockages or solid matter build up in the drains so if this is the cause you may need something else entirely to clear it.
