stuffing coming out of cooker?

We bought a new cooker the middle of last year (freestanding electric zanussi double oven one)
Just noticed today that underneath it, there is a load of fibre-y stuff and some foil looking bits coming out from it:eek:
I presume this isn't normal, and will ring the shop tomorrow, but is it safe to use it? I have found we need to have the dial about 30 degrees above what the temperature aim is (have an oven thermometer) so I wonder if this stuff is insulation?

Cant be 100% certain but I think your guess is highly likely. Maybe the insulation got damaged along the way. Perhaps tilting the cooker and having a closer look will determine the extent of the damage? Unless the foil side is in contact with the electrics, should be safe but obviously checking with the shop is a good idea.

Have just found this thread when googling about the fact that my (similar) Zanussi cooker is causing me a lot of accidents. So far today it has hurt my left foot 3 times (due to a panel on the main oven door not having been affixed property and therefore often catches and hurts my foot when I enter my kitchen).
Your materials hanging down from the base of the cooker also resonates with me - as I was washing my kitchen floor earlier today and realised that it looks as if there is literally paper hanging down underneath the base of the cooker:eek:.
I literally cannot believe a cooker could have been made so badly.
Suffice it to say, I wont ever be buying anything from Zanussi ever again (such a shame that its no longer the Swiss making their products - having bought a Swiss-made washing machine of theirs many years back and it lasted many years and never needed so much as a repair during that time).
Never again.0 -

You've totally lost me on that one....(ah...right...guess you are referring to stuffing, as in chicken stuffing.....).0
