Scottish Power Incentives
Options
Hi there,
we've just switched to Scottish Power and got vouchers to stay at one of a number of hotels as long as we eat at the hotel. None of the hotels give prices of the dinners on their websites, so wondered if anyone had used the deal and stayed in any of the hotels in the Lake District?
Thanks in advance!

Just out of interest, what tariff did you go for?
Also, did you get the vouchers before or after the switching date?0 -
They currently are giving these away to any new customer signing up to any tariff on line.
You get the choice of 4 offers:
hotel accomodation (as mentioned by Sitrus): 2 for 1 restaurant meal: BOGOF admission to an attraction: free gym pass.
They send the voucher by e-mail as soon as the details of your switch have got into their system (ie you don't have to wait until the switch is completed), around 10 days after signing up.
Voucher details are here (you need your own code to actually get the voucher):

ah, I signed up through Money Supermarket about 3 weeks ago, so think i've missed out on this. Hey ho...0

Signed up through Moneysupermarket and will get £30 for doing both gas and leccy so much more than Quidco.0

I applied for dual fuel from Scottish Power (online tariff) via Uswitch. I am currentlly with Southern Electric for both gas and electric.
I had the 'Welcome to Scottish Power email' after I set up a Direct Debit explaining that the process would be complete in 4 to 6 weeks.
Today I received a letter from Southern Electric (current supplier) asking me to reconsider the switch, then by sheer coincidence (or was it?) I received an email from Scottish Power telling me my application was stopped with no explanation given. Now what do I do? Has anyone else experienced this?
I was looking forward to saving 168.00 per year!0 -
I had this when I tried to move from Ecotricity to Good Energy last year. I still had a debit balance on my monthly-pay account and rather than send me a final bill for payment Ecotricity just stopped the transfer and objected. I cleared the outstanding bill and re-applied for the transfer and it went through okay. I'd re-apply again after checking my account with the current supplier to make sure there was nothing in that preventing the move.0

Oh, and go through Moneysupermarket.com as they are giving you £30 cash back as a cheque if you do a dual fuel switch. Even better than the £18 via Quidco.com if you do it through Uswitch.0

If you go through the links on this site - not sure if Moneysupermarket.com are offering their deal to everyone or whether it's a special deal to MSE'ers - go to the Utilities tab on the homepage and look for Martin's scripts on cheapest gas/electricity suppliers, etc. There's a link in there and a bit about the cashback offer too.0

We actually got £35 for dual switch from Quidco on top of the 'free' hotel stays0

BG have good offers just now but I believe they are only available through the doorstep channel.
Offers include:
£40 credit on the first quarterly gas bill for credit meters
for electric credit meters a £25 credit on the first bill after 12 months
For prepayment electric customers a choice of a £30 voucher redeamable at any national supermarket, a free 1 nights hotel break for 2 people or discount holiday vouchers.
They also have a `standby saver` which turns all appliances plugged in off when not in use.
Some pretty good offers imo!:money:0
