trouble is in a hard water area you need more of the detergent so you never get as many washes as the packet says - i wish that they had to out the number of washes in hard and soft water on the packet. It would save me some maths !
  • Theres a fella on ebay who sells 10kg sacks of crushed persil bio and non bio for £6.99 with £10 delivery but if you buy 2 delivery is then £5 so works out cheaper if you can multi order with someone apparently its enough for 350 washes as you only use an egg cup ful as its more concentrated im going to give it a go next time i need washing powder ... • Another fan of the lidl brands for washing stuff and also loo rolls/tissues.
I use whatever is on offer for normal washing (half dose) and have saved my big box of surf powder (£6 when on offer) for hubby's white shirts/tea towels.
Watch the small print on the bargains, sometimes it's cheaper to get small boxes - grrrrr.

  • Incidentally, B&M Bargains had Surf Oasis Tropical 100 wash powder for £9.99. Might be worth checking to see if they are still selling this for that price.

I only buy branded as I have Psoriasis and a day in clothes washed in the wrong stuff is a nightmare! I love the fairy stuff but never seems to be on offer! x
