I can't comment on Asos as I don't sell clothes at all. However as you say- the DSRs apply to all sellers, it is only Amazon that have the strange anomoly of treating some sellers as 'private' sellers and exempt from them.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. You mean ebay?????? Or Amazon as well?
Gosh I have my daft hat on today! Yes I mean ebay- sorry.
I'm reading MSE and trying to both wrap my overnight sales and list new stuff all at the same time.
Think I better go concentrate on wrapping and listing, don't want to get that wrong!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. So, due to the barmy ebay limits on the number of branded clothing and fashion items you can sell a month, ie three, I now have a spanking new ASOS Marketplace shop. Just put a dozen or so items on to see if they sell and what price I can get for them.illegitimi non carborundum0

Do let us know how you get on, it isn't one of the markets I use but I'm sure there are others here with clothing businesses who would be interested in some feedback.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Will do. It "looks" more premium than ebay, e.g. they have photography standards, although seem to be not rigidly enforced, so I put them on at a premium price, ie more than I would have done on ebay.
My feeling is that they are short of buyers there.....its a pity theres no counter or watchers there so I could at least see if theres any traffic.
Thinking about using a freebie google adwords offer there.illegitimi non carborundum0 -
So, I listed on Sunday.
I had a couple of best offers overnight, both of which I accepted, and one of them was purchased this afternoon by Paypal.
Couple of points here......best offers on ASOS are not binding on the offeror as they are on ebay. Also ASOS dont verify that the buyer has an address on file with Paypal, and you only find out once youve been paid!!! So no seller protection from Paypal.
Seller tools also a bit lacking.....so visitor counter, or concept of watchers.
Items are listed free for 90 days, with a 10% FVF.
Would I have got the amount on ebay that I did on ASOS.....I dont think so.
There is a feedback mechanism but yet to see whats thats like.illegitimi non carborundum0 -
The other item under offer has also now been sold

There is no "view completed listings" facility, so its not possible to see what things actually sell for.
They allow you to create discount codes that you can publish on Facebook etc - thats nice and something ebay doesnt do.
They also allow you to put your stuff into their marketplace sale.....presumably they will promote their sales at certain times of the year and all the sellers who have opted in.
You can also create and change your shipping profiles ie how much you charge for each type of product for shipping.illegitimi non carborundum0
