Recording TV programmes on a USB Memory Stick

Hi folks

I have recently bought a new TV and after reading the manual it seems that I can record programmes on a USB Memory Stick. The TV has a USB port.

My question is - Does the USB Stick have to be of a certain memory capacity for programmes to be recorded on it, or can it be a standard one - the types which can be used to record files from a PC?

It is a widescreen TV and the make is ISIS.

If it's recording Freeview's mpg streams then you'll need about 700MB to 1.7GB an hour, depending upon which channel you're recording and the time of day.

Will it take a USB connected hard drive in a caddy? Might prove a more sensible option and will certainly prove a lot better value in terms of £ per megabyte.
