Anti mould paint for a kitchen - any recommendations?

We have a serious mould problem in our kitchen. We are dealing with the cause - getting cavity wall insulation later this month and installing a functioning extractor fan.
We will be repainting the walls and I see Ronseal do an anti mould paint which you can then paint over in the desired colour. Does anyone know how this would compare to using Crown kitchen paint in the desired colour but which also contains a 'Mouldguard'.
Or is there anything else I should be considering?
Don't want to waste money on things we don't need but don't want to have to do the job again next year!!!

We had good results with 'Mouldtec' from Dulux in our bathroom.0

yes DULUX Mouldtec. it's fairly pricey but has a 5 year mould guarentee.
my bathroom used to suffer from mould on the ceiling. after a replaster and paint using this stuff it's great.
its quite plastic looking though.0 -
5 back-to-back showers every morning meant despite and extractor and open window we had a mould problem in our bathroom. Dulux has kept it clear for 2 years so far.
From past experience Dulux is superior to Crown and the two professional decorators I know only ever use Dulux. HTHLife's a beach! Take your shoes off and feel the sand between your toes.0 -
I used mouldtec in our bathroom 2 years ago with no mould coming back. That said I have a better extractor fan and also lined the walls before I repapered and painted with 2 coats of dulux mouldtec0

After seeing it on sarah beeneys house programme, I invested in a mould treatment kit off ebay (anout £35 I think). It was a three step treatment to remove, prevent and protect. The kit included 2 bottles of mouldtec which could be added to any 2.5ltr can of paint.
I used one bottle in the bathroom paint as I couldnt see a colour I liked in the ones with mouldtec already in. The other I am keeping for my kitchen as my preferred colour is in the Farrow & Ball range (erk!)0 -
On the basis you are talking about colour this one is probably a non starter - Zinsser Perma White - only comes in white but someone might come looking who only wants white. We put this on our bathroom ceiling two years ago and its solved a recurring mould problem (mostly on the last couple of inches where the loft insulation was a bit lacking due to not being able to push it down into the eaves). You can tint it and although they recommend not painting over it, interestingly where we were a bit casual with the top of the wall, we now have a clear strip at the top of the wall with a tiny bit of mould below it, so its clearly protecting through two coats of normal paint. This is serious stuff - two coats of this will seal it out - you need to do the two coats as it seals to itself, but as its a 2 hour recoat time its pretty painless.Adventure before Dementia!0

Thanks for the advice. I'll look into the Dulux mould tec and see how we get on.0
