Quick cruise question

Hi, I have been looking at mini cruise's for my dh's 40th and can probably only stretch to a 2 night one. Looking on the itinery it says you set sail at 4.30pm on the friday and dock again at 7.30am on the sunday.
I was just wondering what extra time we would be able to stay onboard for at either end of the trip, as its a weekend without the kids I would like to make it as long as possible
Thanks in advance.

Is it a cruise or a glorified ferry trip? Which ship and what route?
If it is a proper cruise ship you can usually check in from 12pm (you need to be at the terminal from about 11am and wait until check in opens) be on board for about 12.30pm, have some lunch and a drink, cabin access is permitted from about 2pm which gives you a couple of hours before you set sail.
The latest you can disembark is about 10am, but you need to be out of your cabin before this and hang around in the lounges.0 -
Minicruises you need to be off when they dock.0

Agreed - our experience on P&O cruises (not ferries) is they want you out of cabins at 8am ish and off by 10am as they have to turn the ship round for people to start boarding by noon. If you get there around 11am on departure day you should be onboard by noon (ignore the check-in time on the ticket)0 -
Thanks everyone, it is with p&o from southampton to Bruges and back. Gosh, out at 8 am is nice and early!MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0

They like you out early so they can clean the cabins it's a pretty fast turn around because everyone wants to start their holiday as quick as possible.Which ship are you going on?0
