Halogen Oven Failed

I purchased a halogen oven from Aldi's sometime last year but possibly late 2010. The halogen bulb blew up the other day and it's now kaput.

I tried calling the manufacturers Giles & Prosner as it has a 3 year warranty but I couldn't get through. A quick google search informed me they went into administration only last month.

I've emailed the administrators MHA MacIntyre Hudson about replacement parts but I'm not confident of a reply.

Where do I stand on this? Should Aldi give me a refund if I can't get a replacement bulb?

The oven was purchased via my mother and she's not sure if she still has the receipt but she's not had a proper look yet.

administration process lasts up to 1 year. I doubt there will be any chance you getting a repair or a new bulb.

OP, you, or your mother, need to be talking to Aldi.

I know nothing about halogen ovens, but is 'the bulb' a user replacable item?

Is it perhaps a common item that fits a number of ovens?
I have no idea.

From HotUKDeals, it appears that your mother bought it last January.
It also appears that Aldi offered a three year warranty* with it.
Get looking for that receipt and get back to Aldi.


*let's hope Aldi offered that warranty and not the manufacturers.
