Some mental illnesses are more serious than some cancers.
They kill more people, and the recovery rate is lower.
I have what some consider to be a mental illness - Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.
On most days, I have real difficulty walking, and can only for example do half the washing up before becoming dangerously tired.
If I was able to be 100% cured by the mere amputation of my legs, I would be booking myself in promptly.
Sure, I wouldn't be able to walk again.
But I can only at the moment walk unrestricted a day or two every 6 months.
I'd be able to drive, study properly, get a job, and have a chance at a life, not an existence.0 -

Did you know that "depression" and "glass backs" are the highest cause for claiming benefits? I gave an example of my doc sitting there with the depression version of Lima, asked some questions, said I was depressed went to dish out some anti depressants and realised I was already on 4x the amount of that drug she was going to perscribe. Sorry, there are many people out there with this illness that is serious, but it's not as if they are in a wheelchair, lost limbs, have something missing elsewhere.
There are many of us who have been on here for a long time and you see the same questions and scenarios. Someone with depression and a child just about to breech the age limit for parents looking for jobs has come up before. I Hope it is not the case for the OP. I hope the OP feels better soon.
for your info, mate, i wont need a job anyway, as the job centre told me i wont get one due to my sons illness, so it doesnt matter if i am on sick pay, or income support, both the same money, and i wont get put on jsa, my youngest is 5, not 7. and they have changed it to 5 now btw, so your wrong there. so why would i 'need' to be switched over for that reason? i dont need to be.
lying about been depressed is one thing someone should be ashamed of, try googling 'severe autism, global development delay, milti personality disorder, in a 7 tr old' see the results, and see if you would need antidepressants. my dr is trying to give me stronger ones, but i would rather feel the pain of what my son has to deal with in his own world, rather than have it blocked out by tablets and not give a crap. so no,, i am not like 'everyone else' as you say i am. i am that mad i am actually sat here crying right now, how dare you.
shall i sit here and say your a 'typical' low life, sad, lonely, cold hearted person you sound to be? like you are to me.
jog on!!!:rotfl:Always buy good shoes and a good matress, cause if your not in one your in the other.:j0 -

i would,nt be supprised if someone don,t report you to who ever you report people to about frauding benefits
i expect the benefits people will come and read all this and get your name and address and you,ll then have to be interviewed under caution again.0 -
Well if it's some sort of contest............
I'm suicidally depressed. The thought of killing myself is a constant theme going round and round in my head. I have problems with motivation, binge eating and I have a number of physical issues. I'm taking 210mg of an antidepressant per day and have done so for close to 12 years. In fact I've been taking them for so long that I remember the days when 280mg was the maximum dose.
And guess what?
I don't qualify for anything. I am still capable of working, require no physical help and so am not eligible.
Jog on yourself. If your LO is as sick as you say he is then you are entitled to a series of benefits including Carer's Allowance and Disability Living Allowance.
Funny how loads of kids have autism or ADHD these days........................... Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0 -

depression is hell, i would rather have terrible pain than depression when it is bad.
i have had terrible pain where i needed morphine and terrible depression and i would choose the pain over the depression anytime.
if op,s child if ill then i don,t begrudge them a penny, i am happy to pay my taxes to help them . but op is frauding for herself making out she can,t move much , can,t leave the house,is depressed etc...whilst reading back her posts we find out shes bugg gering off on holiday ,picking up all the whoopsie bargains at tesco, landscaping her garden and having a laugh with the nurse at her smear test when her leg shot in the air and her knickers flew off.
its just gets on your nerves0 -

err, I cannot, I am in a wheelchair, something to do with a doctor cutting the spinal cord and nerve. Something you cannot fake.
Never mind, it will be spring soon. My wife can wheel me around whilst I watch you doing your lovely garden when you plant those bargain plaints you get from the garden centre 40 miles away and have a drink with you that is on offer at your local Tesco's right before those horrible benefits people come around and talk to you about your inability to go out.0 -
Are you pregnant? Surely if you are you wont be on JSA for long anyway?Pay off all my debts before Christmas 2015 #165.0
