Car Insurance Dilemma Help Needed...............

I wonder if some of you knowledgeable folk could offer me some advice on how to deal with a car insurance problem.
I have an aged relative who lives in a less than desirable area, he has just bought an old second hand car and the insurance quotes he has had have been astronomical over £1000 in some cases, he asked me to see how much it would cost for him to insure the car from my address which I did on one of these comparison sites without thinking too much into it and he can insure it fully comp from my address for only £165 for the year
He has now asked would I mind him insuring the car from my address as it is so much cheaper because of the huge difference in price I am inclined to allow it however I really don't know  I presume there could be all sorts of repercussions for him as the car would never be at my address he says he is not bothered about any of this, I am more concerned with if there would be any issues for me for allowing him to do this?
Can anyone offer me any advice on this I really don't know what to do for the best he will be upset if I say no as it is going to cost him an awful lot more in his eyes it make no difference to me what do you all think?
Thanks in advance

Outright insurance fraud, making false statement and and obtaining pecunary advantage by deception (which I believe has now been included in another law).
You would be deemed to be an accessory to those offences.
Oh, and there is a high chance any claim he puts in would be voided if he put in a claim for say damage done at his home address. It would take just a simple look up on the electoral roll to find out the truth.
And he would have to have the car registered to your address which means if he gets any parking tickets etc they come to yours and it will be your door the bailiffs knock on if they go unpaid.0 -
Insurers base their premiums on a number of factors including where the car will be kept at night. If it is parked in a risky area they will load the premium accordingly. If it is parked in a low risk area then the premium will be cheaper. But if it is kept in a high risk area and insured at a low risk address then that is making a false statement to the insurers and could also be seen as fraudulent behaviour."You should know not to believe everything in media & polls by now !"

If he was keeping your car at your house, I suppose that would be different though? Although if he is keeping it at theirs, the insurance company could refuse to pay out on the policy if he made a claim?
I'm the same in my area, the prices are stupidly high!!! I've even been refused from a few as they have stated there has been 'too many insurance claims in your area'!!!!Quidco Earnings (since Dec 06): £467.750 -
Insured at your address so i presume they will register the car at your address, because the insurance will think thats
suspicious if its not and ask why its registered elsewhere.
Then you get a knock on the door at 4am, Maybe with an enforcer...Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
I highly advise against getting involved in this. Getting involved in other peoples dodgy business is always a recipe for disaster. You may think they've no way of knowing but the number of data matching excercises that are run by various government departments alone is enough to make you realise its only a matter of time before its flagged up.0

Has he tried a third party only quote at his address? Not third party, fire & theft ....... Third party ONLY0
