slow cooker soup recipes...

any one have any (easyish) slow cooker soup recipes? I am going to have a go at tomato soup later, but want to try some other soups in the future. I have some chcken stock on the freeze at the moment, so if anyone can give me a recipe for that I'll be really grateful

Can I ask - why use a slow cooker to make soup? My most prized kitchen possession in the kitchen is my huge Tefal non-stick stockpot, once the vegetables are cleaned and chopped I can make upto 7 litres of delicious soup in a matter of minutes. I know that many people start a slow cooker first thing in the morning so dinner is ready and waiting for them after work but I would always be concerned about an electrical fault developing and the house burning down!

Do you worry about your other electrical appliances, such as Refrigerator, Freezer etc.?
I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.

I made spiced carrot and lentil soup in my sc the other day and it was delicious.

    Takes 4 hours
    Served 4
    Easily Doubled

    1tsp cumin seeds
    pinch chilli flakes
    2tbsp olive oil
600g carrots washed and grated, no need to peel
    140g red lentils
    700ml vegetable stock
    125ml milk

Put the cumin seeds, chilli flakes, oil, carrots, lentils and stock in the SC and cook for around 3hrs or until tender.
When the lentils are cooked, add the milk and whizz up the soup with a blender until smooth
    Serve

I don't stick to a recipe, just throw in whatever is there.
Start with a couple of handfulls of pearl barley; same again with dried soup mix as a base, then whizz tomatoes; onions; peas whatever is in the freezer, a few herbs and couple stock cubes, anything that may go.
