Difficult to close front door

My ancient front door (wood) over 100 yrs is getting harder to close. Sometimes it is a struggle to bang it shut. Is there anything I can do or which trade do I get to see to it? Thanks

It could have dropped, warped or swollen. This isn't the best time in the year to tackle it because, if it has swollen due to damp weather & someone shaves it back to fit, when it dries & shrinks back you will end up with a big gap for drafts to get through.0

You may like to check the sill - we thought our door was swelling in wet weather and kept having bits shaved off to no improvement, and visble gaps letting in draughts - eventually realsied that the wooden bar across the sill had been cut a wee bit too long and arched up in damp weather - had that shortened and door no longer sticks
Good luck! You never know how far-reaching something good, that you may do or say today, may affect the lives of others tomorrow0 -
