How long to claim money back?

Hi!

I posted an item to america over a month ago, which I sent to be signed for. After 3 weeks it still hadn't arrived and I gave the buyer the tracker number and asked them to let me know when it arrived. They haven't left feedback or said it's arrived, though I'm sure that they'd have made a fuss if it hadn't arrived.

However I'm just wanting to know how long they would have if they wanted to get their money back from paypal, and how long I'd be able to trace whether it was signed for or not, just incase they say it hasn't arrived.

They have 45 days to file a claim.

Why not track it online yourself to set your mind at rest?

    Was it surface or airmail?

its either 45 or 60 days

might be 45 days for paypal and 60 days for ebay claims or the other way around
  • It was sent via airmail. Whenever I track it online it says that it's been passed onto the united states for distribution, so it seems to be not traced once it is shipped. Have just looked on my ebay and I sold it further back than I thought, 17th Dec, so we're already over 50 days ago now. I know they must have recieved it otherwise they'd have made a noise by now, but I'm fed up at looking at it on my ebay (sold page) and just want it out of the way!

you can't track standard airmail items

was it sent by international signed for or airsure?
  • says signed for international on top of the paper. I asked the woman at PO to make sure it was insured and to be signed for in the states.

Whatever you do don't ask. Just sit quietly until you hear from them.

    very good advice

i asked somebody if something arrived ok after a couple of weeks and turned out they weren't happy for some reason and me emailing them had reminded them to complain about it
  • Yes I shan't be asking if it's arrived as then it's clear that I don't have a clue whether it has or not and it's not being traced on the site!
