PPI and Halifax

Hi back in November I sent of the claims paper work to the Halifax and the Bank of Scotland. I had a response logging the claim and they informed me they would look into it. When I came home from work last night I had a check from Bank of Scotland, there was no letter attached to explain which of the claims it was for or whether it was for all of the claims. Should they detail what it is for?

My understanding is the FOS recommend they provide a full breakdown of what the refund reprsents and how it was calculated. BUT the banks are a wash with claims and tbh most are not putting the staff required onto the work so often stuff is just getting banged out.
I used a spreadsheet from another forum so I can work out a rough figure of what I should be getting on each claim so if anything comes I know if its in the right ball park (given their actions in the past few years do any of us trust them lol).
You can give them a call and check/ask for a breakdown.
Well done on the win though nice

Some of the providers are sending out a letter telling you the amount and breakdown and send the funds separately. So, you may have one part of a two part process.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only.
