Brilliant :D and thanks for posting. I will use that promotion for my ferry day trip next month :D Is that Gallo wine any good I wonder?

I did think they would go one, they normally do this time of year to fill ferries I guess, so that's good.

In all seriousness, I know it's the wrong time to ask, but what happens if they don't launch my booked on ferry coming home the date I've booked? Would I automatically be put on the ferry before or after that timing? Been half term and all? I'm booked onto the Spiriit of France.

  • Can I book it for 2 days and only use outwards 1 day and inward 10 days later? It would be cheaper than a return crossing for me. Anyone know?

I believe they will penalize you for the journey not taken.

We used the deal a couple of weeks ago. The ferry was virtually empty except for the MSE'rs wandering around with their six pack of wine :d . We thought red was the safest bet but I think it will be relegated to the cooking wine because it's very thin. Much nicer wine to be had in the French supermarkets at a ridiculously low price but it was definitely a good value trip.

I much prefer empty ferries, more places to sit, no time is wasted queueing for things, so I do prefer it that way :)

We got the wobbly neck wine last time we did the trip with the wine offer (I travel without the wine offer lol). Not sure what its called but it wasn't bad. Although carrying a crate of wine in a f9 gale was interesting :D We where planning on crossing next month anyway, so the wine is an added bargain :)

    Looking forward to it ;)

So, we are just driving down to Dover now and hoping we dont get stuck in snow! Can anyone who has been give us advice on picking the wine up. Were there big queues? Do they run out? Do you have to have all of one colour? Do you tgen have to carry it round with you for the rest of the crossing? Is it best to collect it early or later? Any other advice gratefully received!
