aaaaaaaaaarghhhh!!
we are mid loft conversion, and the builders are very worried about the roof. now i know the guys, they mean it, they don't mess me. my best mate is the wife of one of thm.
i live in a 1901 trad.semi with original slate roof.....they reckon it needs replacing  ...a few years a go we had renotherm done which has beeen really useful, but now the builders are shattering tiles in chunks on trying to remove them for the work. because of the new rear dorma, there is less roof to do, but does anyone have an idea of costs
i'm really upset cos i love the original tiles too.....
I am all out spent on the conversion, so I am dreading the estimate....what would it be roughly???
thanks y'all...

Im in the middle of having my late 1890s house roof redone. They are reusing the slates that are reusable about 25% and buying in salvaged slate.0

sorry pressed the wrong button,to continue,we live in an end terrace four bedroom with a main roof and smaller entended roof and this is costing us nearly £9000.We could of had new tiles and would of paid about 2 thousand pounds less but we wanted to keep it as original as we could.Hope this helps.0

Sorry to crash the thread, but MrsTittleMouse, did that include replacing any timbers ie the actual joists? Interested because currently buying a house which sounds of similar age/size, thanks.Don't see the point anymore in offering advice to people who only want to be agreed with...0

The joists were not replaced but some of the other timbers were,I know we have had a lot of timber delivered together with lead ect.0

thanks everyone.
my quote is 4500 for tiles or 5500 for slates, or 6500 for recycled rubber slates which i really wanted. unfortunately, i have no spare cash at all so I have to go with the cheapest option.
now i have to find £4500 ... anyone need any science tutoring out there?lol:rolleyes:
