Does having a for sale board help to attract more viewers or do people look more on the web for houses?

I think they're equally important.
Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

A for sale sign is one of the most effective ways of attracting local buyers.0

I've lived in the area where I am now for about 5 years and hardly know any road names
(I know my way around though!) so for me when I was looking a board was quite important 0 -
I would say that the web is vital for those looking to MOVE TO the area (from elsewhere) and a board is vital for lose ALREADY IN (or very close to) the area.
When we moved 4 years ago, we moved from N London to E Sussex, a journey that took about 2 hours (N Circular hell!!!). For us, it was vital that we could see what was on offer via the web and then narrow those down for a drive by and then narrow those down for viewings.
If we were moving within this area now, I would register with all local estate agents and keep my eyes peeled. I might only use the web occasionally as I would expect the agents to tell me about suitable properties before they went on the web (which seems to take a few days after the details have been printed).Warning ..... we've just sold without a for sale sign. First person that viewed within a week of hitting papers/web.0

The only reason I found my last house was because it had a 'For Sale' sign up. I had never stepped foot in the agency that was selling it (or found their web-site), and was driving round my preferred areas. So a resounding YES they are very important, from my point of view.0
