Hi guys exactly as the title states "Can I take out a student account in my final year?"
I am a mature student and started at 21 after working for 3 years from college, and I had a little problem with the phone company 'three' who defaulted my dd and I got a major problem with my credit rating, during this time (whilst not knowing) I applied with natwest for an account to being turned down.
Once realising I have sorted out the '3' thing since then, but never got the chance or made the effort to apply again.
So now I am currently in my final year as a top up student after completing a HND, I was wondering if anyone knows whether I can still apply or not? :S The main benefit being the 0% overdraft. I am sure I tried to apply with hsbc or halifax to which the receptionist said it is only for first years? Is this correct? Any suggestions?

Yes, you should be able to. Some banks may not let you but, I would do some research. It could be beneficial.0

I am sure one of them will. Santander seem to have a drive for new customers on so worth checking them out.
Make sure you look at the graduate t + c's as they will be moving you onto one of those accounts v soon.0
