Money to invest offshore

I live in the Middle East and have just over 100,000 USD in a HSBC account to invest and am not sure what to do with it. HSBC want me to invest in a World Selection Fund, however with 3% fees + annual charges this seems like an expensive option. Any recommendations on what would be the best thing to do to get a good rate of return in an offshore investment fund? Many thanks.
