Buying new memory

Hi

Just read the thread about problems upgrading memory and done as suggested and run Crucial memory checker.

I plan to upgrade my Emachines E4034 pc with 512mb on board to at least 1gb (another site says I can do it up to 2gb but I'm not sure). Does anyone know where I can get good quality memory DDR2-SDRAM PC2-4300 (266 MHz) from in 512mb and 1gb sizes?

Run the system scanner it should tell you how much / what sort of memory you can fit to your machine - their products are good quality but pricey.

Use the crucial scannerr that will tell you what you need, then check the above sites. You don't have to buy crucial RAM, just make sure whatever you buy is the same spec as the RAM the scanner recommends.

Crucial direct normally have the cheapest prices, especially with free delivery included, and a lifetime warranty.

It's £31.71 on Crucial for 512mb or £56.39 for 1GB

I've never had a problem with Crucial memory, thoroughly recommended as they use Micron memory chips!

Ebuyers own stuff is usually quite good, and it comes with a guarantee so if you get a duff one you can send it back
