Should i buy a new lenovo z570 laptop or a Sony Vaio

Options
I use my laptop to write documents, use spreadsheets and surf the web and as I never watch films or play games I have shortlisted a SONY VaioVPCEH2H1E/L.CEK for £450 and a BLUE LENOVO i3-2330M Z570 at £398 both from PC WORLD.

They didn't have a demo model of the Z570 but I did try a LENOVO G575 with a Dual-core AMD C-50 processor for £300 which I liked but have been put off by negative comments about it having a noisy fan and being underpowered.

The G575 keyboard felt nice - can anyone tell me if the Z570 has the same keyboard ?

If you are pleased with your Z570 or Vaio, perhaps you would reply and say why ?

I work in IT and seem to do the free support for friends and family as most people in this profession do.

Although i may not be aware of either of the particular models you have mentioned, my past experince with Vaio's is nothing short of terrible and i proactively dissuade friends from buying them again.

On the other hand, both myself and my gf now use Lenovo laptops (I also support them at the company i work for). They are robust, reliable and definitely worth the money.

I bought a Lenovo Z570 some months ago. Can't fault it. Worked in IT for donkeys years and been using PC's and laptops since they were invented. The rule used to be 'nobody ever got fired for buying IBM'. The same still applies. Excellent products. I used to work for a major company in the UK that bought nothing but IBM/Lenovo (by the 1000's) and they were extremely reliable.

Thanks =booboo= and dhj for replying so quickly.

I have just read a post by a laptop repairer who also wasn't happy about Sonys.

My mind was 99% made up about the Z570 and that has tipped the balance.

Now can I avoid PC World to get it for £398 ??????

Haven't seen it anywhere else that's fairly reputable - dhj where did you get yours ?

I got mine from ebuyer but it was a higher spec (faster processor and more ram) and was therefore more expensive. Don't think they have any left though.
