Santander online banking problems?

Anyone else having problems making payments from Santander online accounts at the moment? I have been trying to make a payment out of a Direct ISA to my HSBC current account, without success. Had to resort to telephoning Santander, who claim to have now set up my HSBC account as a payee, but when I go back online it isn't there, and there's a notice to say that what I'm trying to do is incompatible with the type of account I have.
I'm just about coming to the end of my tether with Santander. Their insistance on the One Time Passcode, sent to a mobile phone, is already a real pain since I can't get a mobile signal at home and have to drive 10 miles to find the nearest friend who has both a computer AND a mobile signal.
I'm seriously considering transferring out the ISA to another online bank that's easier to use.

Hi if I remember correctly you cannot transfer money out to an external account from a Santander ISA using the online banking service.
I think this might have been discussed in these forums before. However you might be able to transfer the money out using their telephone banking instead.
Good luck,

Thanks for your reply.
I think it should be possible to transfer out online from a Direct ISA (but maybe not for other Santander ISAs). I do know that you have to set up the external account as a payee first - which should be possible to do online. It's this that is the difficulty at the moment.
I see there is another thread saying there are problems with Santander's online banking generally just now, so maybe I should try again later.
if you are right: that it isn't possible to withdraw money from a Direct ISA online - then I'll be moving the ISA elsewhere.0 -
Sorry to follow-up to self, but I now believe that Nessie23 may be completely correct: that the only way to transfer (money) out of a Santander Direct ISA (to an external account) is by visiting a branch or by registering for telephone banking. Neither of these is acceptable to me so I'll be transferring my ISA elsewhere.
The Customer Services agent I spoke to today at Santander obviously did not know the situation and gave me false information.
All the best.0 -
I think Santander is having online problems as during the week I could not make internal transfers and now cant open an Esaver as it does not recognise email addresses0
