Booking has just opened for 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' and the musical Ragtime, and during the Olympics all tickets are £20.12. This is fantastic if you want a great seat at bargain price. The theatre has had a fantastic run of good productions and I would recommend going, especially to Midsummer Night's Dream which will be amazing outdoors among the trees...

  • Thank you Sooooooo much for this. xxxxxxxxxx
Have seen Midsummer Nights Dream twice before here many, many years ago and love it. Have always wanted to take my kids, but always so expensive. Just bought 3 premium tickets for £20.12 each. Fantastic.

Lets just hope for good weather come August. :D

Looks great, thanks for the heads up! DD doesn't want to go as studying Shakespeare at school and it's "boreing"!! :rotfl:Kids eh?!
    :p
  • Make her go - it is definitely not boring.
I remember not going to see Evita in the 70's with Elaine Paige and David Essex 'coz it was boring'. Only realised years later - big mistake!

How old is she? There's no doubt most kids and adults find reading Shakespeare very difficult and studying it for exams sometimes manages to put people off for a long time. If she is over 12 I would probably try to to her anyway, on the grounds that it will help with her English to have seen a live shakespeare play. I'm an english teacher and would only risk it if i knew it was top class production, which this will be. I've taken kids to some touring productions and wished I hadn't bothered, as they didn't get it, but this will be so well done. We always try to add on a bit of a sweetener with our own kids in the shape of a posh picnic in Regents park, or a trip into Harrods, ora meal out, so it softens them up... Then afterwards they are usually glad they came. I also think it doesn't do any harm to tell them the start of the play, as the set up is often very quick in the play and it helps them to know the basic starting plot.
