Parking Fine - Contravention 62 - London

Hello all,

I am after a bit of help after getting a parking fine through this morning.

To cut the story short - My band and I were unloading gear into a venue for about 25 mins and left our cars outside the venue on the side of a cobbled street (brick lane - London). We were told by the venue that it was ok to unload here and then move our cars afterwards, which we did.

I am confused as to wether the ' contravention 62' is because I left the car where they consider to be a pavement, even though there was no curb and it's a narrow, one-way street so there was nowhere else to unload a whole bands worth of equipment, or if they think my back wheels were on what they call 'the pavement'.

I have a picture to upload that came through with the ticket but I'm not sure how to do it.

You will need to post more than that small snippet of the PCN; post your full pics of all small-print, back pages and all (only the name, address, car reg and PCN number covered), on pepipoo instead:

That's a specialist forum as you will see if you click on a few threads to get the gist of what to post to get advice. Also read the FAQs such as 'how to post pictures' first of all and then register and start a topic there.

Unfortunately in any London borough, pavement parking is a contravention (anywhere except the road pretty much) but that doesn't mean you can't appeal. But when you post about it on pepipoo and when you appeal, do not say 'about 25 mins', please say 'about 20 mins' as many Councils will allow loading but only up to 20 minutes. So don't shoot yourself in the foot by saying 25 and you may just win on appeal due to having no option but to park there for your unloading.

Finally look online or go and view the moving footage they have (do not rely on their carefully-selected still photos). You need to know how long they filmed you for so you know what evidence they may show at adjudication, and to spot any flaws in their allegation.
