    thanks everyone,
am not quite as badly off as thought yesterday, one of the childminders who stepped into the breach has a reciprocal agreement to cover with my actual childminder and they sort money out between themselves, but in the middle of last week when everything was so uncertain she said she wanted paying seperately, now that original childminder seems to be responding she says she's happy to go back to sorting out between them, I think she was worried that she would never get paid if something awful happened (which I can understand, she has to make a living). so that's one extra expense down, unfortunately ds (9) absolutley refuses to go to her, he was in tears at the thought, so he is going to after-school club (which is cheap and flexible so that's all good) and easter holidays are covered - an expensive but very fun sports club for the first week who will take both of them (dd is 3, 4 in june, so she's too young for many) and I've got a great filll in childminder for 4 out of 5 days for dd, who can pick her up from the half day at school. Again she's more expensive, but she used to look after ds, and I know she is amazing, does tons of activities with them, very centred and calm and fun. I am not quite settled about the other fill-in childminder having dd for one day a week though, mainly because ds is so distraught at the thought of being with her, and won't say why, he has occiasionally been to her house when usual childminder had appointments etc.

anyway it's all working out and my mum is going to try and come for a couple of days over easter holidays, she is moving out of her house on the 12th and hasn't exchanged on the new house yet so will be homeless for at least 2 weeks, possibly more which is fortunate for me!

    Hi hun, really pleased

You do wonder about DS..if you can do put your mind at rest, and his, by finding out what it is I would really try. Maybe take him out for an hour by himself or when DD has gone to bed? . I have to say my 2 panic often at the mere thought of a change...often thats at the root of it. Also if shes really ill and they know that a trusted carer is in hospital that can be very scary.

    Everything OK at school?

    Post soon

    Hi thanks all again,
childminder has texted me so she's hopefully feeling much much better, which is a huge relief, we were all very worried about her, but is to be kept in on a drip for another week. Of course it's far too early to know when (if) she'll be back childminding, so we'll take that as it comes, but I have lots of plan B's now.

Honestly, I've no idea what is going on with ds and the childminder he doesn't want to go to, I've tried to talk to him and he just says it's everything about being with her, he needs lots of space to open up about anything, he very much has to do it in his own time. He's very happy going to after-school club and settled there, and everything you say brizzled could well be a factor.

I've joined the swagbucks challenge on "up your income", mainly as distraction from the box of things to be ebayed!

We've had a lovely easter; up at 6.15, kids feeling sick by 8am, job done! roast dinner and usual bickering and pottering about in the garden, plus obligatory DIY - stripping the hall and landing of the anaglypta, overpainted numerous times, with a polystyrene layer underneath, at the rate it's going this will take approx 2 years to finish, which is fine as it postpones needing to buy decorating stuff.

thanks all again for your kind words and wishes. Hope you all had a great MSE easter
