Android recommended 'keyboard' query

I've just got the HTC Sensation XE (after upgrading from my old Magic), and have 2 queries.

Does anyone recommend a keyboard (app) that has the £ sign in a more convenient place, as you currently have to go to the second screen of other characters, whereas the $ sign is on the main keyboard.

On my old Magic when you touched the selected word (as you're typing) it would insert the selected word and put a space in after it, but this phone's keyboard doesn't and I carry on typing then realise I need to go back and insert a space. So is there a setting or keyboard app that does this?

Think that's the default keyboard type.
You could try "swype". but it's roughtly the same keyboard as the HTC default but it auto spaces between words ^_^

Give Swiftkey a try, it has the £ sign where you want it (and auto-space is an option in its settings). It's a really good keyboard.

The standard keyboard has this feature, it's called Trace keyboard and does automatically put space in between words, which is helpful.

I use swiftkey as well - I had it for free when it was in Beta, and then it was in the app store for 10p the other day so I bought it then.
