PPI Halifax Credit Card

Hi All,
Hope someone can offer some adivce.
I have a Halifax Credit card and have had it for a long time (gotta be over 10 years now).
I got into a bit of trouble with a failed business around 6 years ago and maxed out the card to the tune of £13k. I remember making the minumum payments but the debt always increased due to PPI on the card. After a while I rang them up and cancelled the PPI. I also payed off all the debt minus about £800 still oweing. I paid this back about 5 years ago.
Anyway - is it worth me trying to make a cliam to get back the PPI payments? I have no old statements (put them all in the bin after I paid off the card) and no other paperwork whatsover. I think it was setup over the phone.
If it is worth it where would I find the correct addresses e.t.c to send a letter and how do I go about proving PPI was applied to the account and for how long?
Sorry for rambling on.
Thanks in advance for any help. If I could clear the remaining £800 it would leave me totally debt free!! - Live in hope

Address is on their website. You dont need to prove how much you paid.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. Thanks for the reply.
It was mis-sold, to the point that I seem to remember saying I had to have PPI or they would refuse the application. It was a long time ago.
Anyway, thought I would call up the Halifax via their PPI complaint number on their website and it seems that it was 6 years ago that I cancelled it and not 5 as I thought. I assume this as they are claiming no record and I have no proof so suppose I have no other options. Hindsight is a wonderful thing and should of sorted this out years ago.
Once again, thanks for replying.
