  • Just had another thought, does anyone know who Black Horse PPI was underwritten with, I know many BOS were St Andrews group as a friend claimed after managing to get the paperwork through St Andrews, if I can't get the info from Black Horse maybe I could try the insurance provider?
  • I have ppi with a black horse loan and wanted to cancel it. I was told to call their cancelation dept and the person answered the phone with:
Quote "Loydstsb banking group" theres the answer.
Sorry i dont have the number anymore.

Just had a questionaiire from black horse finance today, filled it in and sent it back to them. Just going to sit back and await thier response...
  • I have had a letter back from Black Horse saying that they will not do anything about my claim. I sent all the relevant documents to the omsbudman (i think thats how you spell it) and they said there is nothing they could do about it as I took out the loan in 2004. I'm a little bit stuck now what I can do to pursue the claim as I gave no consent to the PPI been attached to the loan. Any help would be great. Thanks
  • Hello
Thank you for the advice everyone.

The loan was paid off more than 6 years ago so there are no details on my credit file. Does anyone know if it is possible to contact Experian or Equifax for a copy of an old credit file as it would def be on that. I have ordered copy statements from my bank account at the time in the hope that the account number shows on there somewhere.

    hi,
you could always ring the banks loan dept and ask, thats what i ended up having to do when my SAR didnt offer up the info i was after.Lloyds loans were very helpful and gave me details of 4 loans going back to 1998 which all had PPi, they gave me loan account numbers, how much the PPI was and how many payments id made. they then went onto uphold my complaints and offer me £5,700 :)
but on the downside iv been waiting since october 25 for refund to arrive!!!!!!!!
  • Hi there

    Thanks everyone for the advice.
I managed to get the ref number for 1 of my Black Horse Loans! I got it from a very old bank statement, it showed next to my Direct Debit payment.
I contacted Black Horse and gave them the ref number and they found that loan on their old system, they said they couldn't find the other one but it should be located when I sent in another PPI questionnaire.

    Good Luck everyone!

The trouble is all these claims companies will do is send a SAR (which you can do yourself and as you see BH are useless at -I intend to send a complaint about their actions in this area to the ICO, not sure if it will make much odds but if they get enough complaints maybe they will get their bums kicked).
They will then refer to the FOS (again you can do yourself). Most claims companies back out at this point if it can't be looked at by the FOS and won't take court action.

Having read up about court action over on CAG I intend to pursue all my PPI claims as far as possible, will refer to FOS where I can any any that either can't go to the FOS or are refused by them I will go to court with. I am determined not to let them get out of paying on a technicality.
TBH they have shot themselves in the foot on my later loans as they refused one that can't go to the FOS but upheld the one that can despite circumstances and miss selling reasons being identical.
Going to submit the rest of my claims shortly and will take it from there.
