EON terrible customer services
I have spent most of 5 hours trying to speak to a human adult at Eon.
I moved into a property 4 weeks ago and have informed Eon that I am the new owner and to stop sending letters to my address to the previous owner.
Each person I spoke to told me they cant do anything untill the other person pays. I could see through one of the letters and it said " if not paid within 7 days they will be in touch with the det collecters".
EON then told me that I wont get a det collector at my door. Hello I said yes I will will I have seen it happen before (m not to me ).
so EON have lyed there.
So thanks EON for your great customer services and wasting my time today to try and sort it out.
watch dog here I come!!!

Forget trying to resolve this with phone calls to Customer Services - Write a letter headed Complaint setting out the history of this problem.
This does 2 things:
It freezes any misguided Debt Recovery action that Eon may take.
It puts you on the road to take the matter to the Ombudsman0 -
Hi googler
I’m so sorry that we weren’t able to resolve this for you, when you called us.
It sounds like the previous owner left the property without settling their account or providing any forwarding address.
This means that we will continue to use the last known address to send reminders for the balance and any subsequent debt collection follow-up.
I’m sorry that you’ve inherited all of this after moving home and I know it’s a worry that you’ll have debt collectors at your door.
As you’ve notified us that you’ve moved in, we’ll have an entirely new account set up for you in your name.
Any activity on the former occupiers account is not connected to you. Any mail that you receive addressed to somebody else, should not be opened and returned to the address on the back of the envelope.
Once our own process has been followed, the account will be passed to a debt collection agency. They will then take action to locate the person responsible and the letters to your home will stop.
If you have the forwarding address on your exchange documents, we’ll be able to update our records. If you’d like me to help with this, you can contact me using the email address on my profile page.

A little harsh I think. All companies have procedures they have to follow.
This is the fault of the previous people and I can't see why you couldn't just pop the letters back in the post 'not at this address' and let e-on deal with it Then write a letter to them as you now have.£2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4

I have received debt collection letters to the old occupants and I just write 'gone away' on the envelope and pop them back inthe letter box. No problem, no 5 hours calls.0
